Evaluation of US legacy airline distribution strategies

Abstract:
Seventeen years of operational data is used to explore the relationship between efficiency and distribution strategies. Despite perceivable market power possessed by the strongest players in an oligopoly industry, the end results reveal that US legacy airline distribution strategies negatively impacted their performance and did not improve operational efficiency.
