Liberalization in Korea’s airline industry and current concerns

Abstract:
In this paper, the internal and external liberalization surrounding Korea’s airline industry is analyzed. In particular, the economic effects of internal reforms are examined, and several policy issues are suggested. The external liberalization process represented by the US’ pursuit of the bilateral open-sky regime is provided, possible economic outcomes and corresponding concerns due to the new regime are examined and possible solutions are suggested.
