Abstract: Knowing that it has an important role to play in helping America meet its economic, environmental, and national security goals, the nuclear energy industry has taken immediate actions to better prepare its facilities to safely manage severe events. It also has established a new leadership structure to integrate and coordinate the sector's ongoing response to the Fukushima Daiichi accident.
