Abstract:
•Research topics such as product-market strategy, venture governance, and knowledge and innovation have higher odds of being published in UTD journals.•Conversely, research topics such as entrepreneurial networks, entrepreneur characteristics, opportunity identification, and family business have higher odds of being published in top entrepreneurship journals.•Research topics such as product-market strategy and venture governance are associated with fewer citations and, consequently, lower research impact.•All four research topics that constitute core research topics in entrepreneurship have higher odds of getting published in top entrepreneurship journals are all associated with higher citations, and therefore higher impact.
