Abstract:
The paper describes the application of the concept of working in multi-discipline groups in a company manufacturing air-handling fans and customised air-handling equipment on a jobbing type basis. The reasons for organising along these lines is explained together with the method used for formulation of groups. Operating experiences with this form of organisation are described and the results of an attitude survey of operatives and supervisors are discussed.
