Abstract:
A method is developed to conduct an economic evaluation of a potential process innovation prior to establishing the innovation's technical feasibility. The approach allows the identification of 'opportunity windows' for application/performance target combinations for new technology. The boundaries of acceptable performance can be set before investments are made in R & D and implementation of the innovation.
