The shop counter maximum issue problem

Aw Matz

Omega, 1983, vol. 11, issue 1, 75-79

Abstract: The paper describes a statistical algorithm for determining the maximum issue figure for across-the-counter demands at the lowest echelon of a supply system. A novel feature is the curve-fitting of practical data to truncated Hyper-Poisson distributions. The application of the procedure in the control of over-the-counter issues to the customer is discussed.
