Management science in Germany and its impact on German management practice

Abstract:
Management practice in Germany reflects what has been taught to former German students of Management Science. Management Science in Germany has developed from early business studies to a comprehensive system of theory and practical guide lines. During this process over at least nine decades, the field absorbed from abroad many new ideas, results of research, tools, and techniques. Thus, Management Science in Germany--research and education as well as practice--is quite a comprehensive field of knowledge, and it is difficult to trace the applications of any particular subset like Operational Research etc.
