Frank Collins and Gary J Mann

Omega, 1988, vol. 16, issue 5, 369-381

Abstract: This field study investigated the effects of human needs, group influence, and management style in an organizational systems change context using the Fishbein and Ajzen paradigm. The research revealed a positive relationship between subjects' needs and their supportiveness of the change. Also, a positive relationship was found between the workplace group and individual group members' intentions supportive of the change. In addition, a considerate management style was related to supportive behavioural intentions. Finally, path analysis revealed a path from human needs to behavioural intention, as well as paths from group norm and management style to behavioural intention.
