Abstract:
This paper describes the service point model, gives equations for four commonly used demand distributions, shows when the model can be used, and shows how it should be used. Also described are three major problems with the service point model and how each problem is solved. An actual implementation of the service point model for a US company is described to illustrate the concepts.
