Knowledge transfer: The case of the Norwegian technology agreements
K Grønhaug
Omega, 1989, vol. 17, issue 3, 273-279
Abstract:
The present article explores the impact of the Norwegian Technology agreements initiated to create technology transfer from international oil companies to domestic off-shore industries through R&D ventures. A principal-agency perspective is used for structuring the problem and for interpretation of observations. The agreements were found to initiate a variety of R&D ventures. It was observed, however, that the contractual incentive structure allowed for opportunistic behavior to be exerted by the international oil companies in their technology transfer tasks.
