Abstract:
Recently, several college textbook publishers have offered Personnel/Human Resource Management (P/HRM) microcomputer packages for use in P/HRM courses. In this paper, we compare three widely-used packages. All of these multiple-program packages employ Lotus 1-2-3 on IBM-PC (or compatible) microcomputers. Common features (training programs, performance appraisal, and recruiting) are compared and unique programs (stress management and monitoring accident rates) are noted. We make recommendations regarding program features and suggest improvements whenever possible.
