Abstract:
A method is described, based on the use of Markov Processes, for predicting the resource requirements for repair of non-modular aero-engines. This method forms part of the set of Operational Analysis models used by the Royal Air Force to control the procurement and repair of aero-engines. It is highly likely that the approach is applicable to the management of commercial fleets of aero-engines. The method was developed by the author while he was a member of the Department of the Chief Scientist (Royal Air Force).
