A graphical modeling system: Applications in organizational model management

Abstract: This technical note presents a broad overview of a graphical modeling system referred to as the Graph-Based Modeling System for Structured Modeling (GBMS/SM) and its applications in model management. GBMS/SM is a comprehensive modeling system that supports model formulation, maintenance and solution. The model schema in GBMS/SM is specified using a graphical user interface and is based on a modeling framework called model graphs. These graphs are based on the core concepts of Structured Modeling. GBMS/SM has links to relational database tables and spreadsheets and supports a wide variety of applications belonging to different domains.
