Manpower implications of capital investment in Sweden

Abstract: Sweden has made a rational approach to the manpower problems arising from the modernisation of manufacturing processes as a result of capital investment. The Swedish experience is discussed under the headings of effectiveness of investment, congruence of objectives, changes in patterns of employment, union structure and differentials.
