Abstract: Transit-oriented development (TOD) has become vital in urban construction and development. However, TOD suffers from inequitable transportation and uneven development, thereby necessitating thorough investigation. Studies have categorized and evaluated TOD using node-place and its extended model, focusing on the built environment while ignoring the visual interaction of the street environment. This study proposes an extended Node-Place-View (NPV) model for evaluating metro stations and aims to complement the original evaluation method from the visual interaction perspective by the NPV model to classify 213 stations in Chengdu, resulting in 6 clusters. The NPV indicators are aggregated into TODness and characterize the supply capacity of metro stations, and metro ridership was used to characterize the actual demand. The supply and demand for 167 stations were evaluated on the basis of the TODness–ridership relationship. The results coincide with Chengdu City's current development, providing valuable reference for future station optimization and urban planning.
