Abstract:
Climate change and declining air quality can dramatically affect human health and ecosystems. The sustainable use of natural resources involves treating them in a way that benefits the entire human population. Considering the importance of information and communication technology in emerging economies from 2004 to 2021, this study investigates the impact of financial inclusion in a world of depleting natural resources. It moderates the effects of macroeconomic indicators such as foreign direct investment, education, consumer price index, technology, and renewable energy consumption. Analyzing the empirical findings, applying advanced econometric methods, and developing comprehensive policy recommendations are part of this study. The results indicate that economic growth, technology, renewable energy consumption, information and communication technology, financial inclusion, foreign direct investment, and the consumer price index are significant at a 1% significance level. However, education is significant at a 5% level of significance. Growth in economic activity, renewable energy consumption, and information and communication technology are all negatively related to natural resources. Natural resources are positively associated with technology, financial inclusion, foreign direct investment, and education in emerging economies. Policymakers in emerging economies should take into consideration the needs of all stakeholders, develop targeted policies, improve the regulatory environment, and prioritize capacity building in order to ensure financial inclusion and sustainable use of natural resources in emerging economies.
