Utilization of E-commerce for fossil fuels allocation and green recovery

Abstract:
This paper evaluates the impact of e-commerce on fossil fuels efficiency in 24 Emerging and Developing Countries from 2000 to 2021. Findings provide by the CUP-FM (continues-updated fully modified) reveal that e-commerce positively influences natural resource efficiency in emerging Asian countries. However, household electricity consumption has a negative effect on fossil fuels efficiency. Financial market index and economic uncertainty also adversely impact fossil fuels efficiency. Moreover, a bi-directional causal link exists between e-commerce and resource efficiency, suggesting a feedback relationship. To enhance resource efficiency, economies should focus on developing green financing markets, promoting sustainable electricity generation, boosting ICT inclusion, and reducing economic uncertainty. These measures will foster sustainable development and leverage e-commerce's potential for efficient resource management.
