Resources Policy, 2024, vol. 91, issue C

Abstract: This research explores the diverse effects of sustainable finance on both environmental sustainability and economic prosperity, highlighting its transformative potential. In particular, we look at how improving natural resource efficiency through capital mobilization can support economic recovery. We thoroughly analyze this relationship using a panel threshold regression approach with a generalized method of moments (GMM) assumption, using data from 25 Chinese provinces from 2005 to 2022. In addition, we carry out a thorough analysis of different sustainable finance initiatives, evaluating how well they support economic growth and environmental sustainability. By examining how capital is allocated to enhance the efficiency of natural resources, we shed light on the crucial relationships between sustainable finance and long-term prosperity. Our findings prove that financial mechanisms are essential to creating a resilient and environmentally friendly economy, which adds to the ongoing conversation on sustainable development.
