Abstract:
This article examines Thailand's national development in ocean law, policy and management in the light of recent international practice and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. This article is a revised version of the paper presented to the Southeast Asian Project on Ocean Law, Policy and Management (SEAPOL) Workshop on 'Ocean Regime Building in Southeast Asia' held in Phuket, Thailand on 1-4 May 1989. It represents the author's personal view and does not necessarily reflect the position of either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand or the Thai Government.
