A characterization of the prudent order preference function

Claude Lamboray

Mathematical Social Sciences, 2009, vol. 57, issue 3, 389-405

Abstract: We characterize a preference function that associates a set of prudent orders to a profile of linear orders. First, we prove that the set of prudent orders is the largest set verifying a particular list of axioms. By strengthening these axioms, the prudent order preference function can be fully characterized.
