The multifractal character of capacity utilization over the business cycle: An application of Hurst signature analysis

Robert F. Mulligan

The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, 2017, vol. 63, issue C, 147-152

Abstract: Capacity utilization rates and the index of industrial production are examined for multifractality over the 1972–2012 periods. Generally, all series behave very similarly, even though the index of industrial production is unambiguously non-stationary.
