Abstract:
The integration of large-scale renewable energy sources (RESs) has decreased the resilience of cyber-physical power system (CPPS) against extreme events, such as natural disasters and cyber-attacks, leading to significant power outages and blackouts. This paper proposes a resilience-oriented optimal allocation method to reveal the impact of the optimal allocation of RES capacity on the CPPS operation and improve its resilience. Subsequently, a composite preconceived fault set model is established to represent extreme events. Specifically, a bilevel model of the CPPS is established to determine the optimal allocation of RES capacity with the aim of supplying sufficient electricity and reducing the shedding load. Communication routings are considered to investigate the comprehensive effects of communication failures of thermal power and RESs in the model. Additionally, we employ the generalized Benders algorithm to solve the bilevel model. The proposed method is applied to the IEEE 14-bus system, the modified IEEE RTS-79 system, and the real power grid. The results demonstrate that the optimal allocation of the RES capacity plays a significant role in reducing the shedding load and improving the resilience of CPPS against extreme events.
