Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2020, vol. 119, issue C

Abstract: This review presents the state-of-the-art in adsorption heat pumps (AHPs) for heating applications. Crucial aspects like operating conditions, working pairs, performances, adsorbent bed forms, adsorbent heat exchanger geometries and cycle features are discussed. A comparison of AHPs with conventional heating technologies is provided, and concepts of AHPs developed by some market players are presented. Important achievements, gaps and trends of the R&D in this field are discussed.
