A finite control set model predictive control scheme for single-phase grid-connected inverters

Mohamed Azab

Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2021, vol. 135, issue C

Abstract: The present article investigates a control scheme for single-phase grid-connected inverter based on the finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) approach. The proposed grid integration scheme provides direct control of the active and reactive power (PQ) injected to the grid from distributed energy resources (DER) composed of a photovoltaic (PV) array as a renewable resource integrated with a battery bank as energy storage. The direct PQ control scheme includes also low voltage ride through (LVRT) capability of the inverter during voltage sag.
