An offshore wind atlas for the Canary Islands

Abstract: In this paper an analysis of the offshore wind potential in the Canary Islands is presented in the shape of a set of wind maps which constitute an offshore wind atlas. It has been drawn up using data processed from 40 weather stations and satellite. Results from satellite mapping, limited area modelling and mesoscalar modelling have been used by applying the technique known as 'one way nesting'.
