Abstract:
Hydrovoltaic technology can directly obtain electric energy from widely existing moisture and water evaporation. It is considered a promising solution to solve energy problems and environmental pollution. By using different hydrovoltaic materials, film-based hydrovoltaic generators with diverse morphological, mechanical, and functional characteristics have been manufactured. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive understanding of the participation of the film in hydrovoltaic technology and its prospects. This review summarizes the new developments in the preparation, working mechanism, various applications of film-based hydrovoltaic generators, challenges, and prospects of hydrovoltaic technology.
