Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2013, vol. 27, issue C, 234-243

Abstract: Considering the rapid growth of wind turbines applications in power systems, the dynamic behavior of wind turbines, especially the subsynchronous resonance (SSR) is of interest to researchers. This paper presents an overview of subsynchronous resonance issues in wind turbines including, analysis methods, modeling, the impact of control parameters, and proposed mitigation methods. Much of this study is focused on variable speed wind turbines.
