Abstract:
In this paper a thorough review on the configuration of active filters have been carried out along with the comparison of its operation by mitigating load harmonics when attached with grid connected fixed and variable speed wind turbine generator. For extraction of reference signal, Synchronous Reference Frame (SRF) technique has been used and for generating driving pulses Hysteresis Band Current Control (HBCC) method has been used for active filter. MATLAB/SIMULINK software utilized to verify effectiveness of proposed system. The simulation results represent that proposed system is operating under the harmonic limit specified in IEEE-519 standard with variable speed of wind.
