Leadership style, dimensions of superior's upward influence and participative budgeting

Ahmed Belkaoui

Scandinavian Journal of Management, 1990, vol. 6, issue 3, 217-230

Abstract: This paper reports the results of an empirical study to assess the relationship between budgetary participation and satisfaction with job and budget among middle level managers in a multinational manufacturing firm. It was hypothesized that a superior's leadership style and upward influence in work-related decisions mediate the effect of participation on job and budget satisfaction. The results confirmed the hypothesis.
