Abstract:
Incidents that involve transportation have the potential of causing significant damages to the affected communities due to the release of hazardous substances. Therefore, it is important to reduce their impact as well as the risk of their occurrence. In this paper we review recent research in the field of transportation of hazardous materials. Our work extends a previous review from 2007. Based on our analysis, we identify current trends and research gaps as well as relevant future research directions.
