Fear of death and dying among medical students

Abstract: A psychological investigation of medical students indicated that they were not significantly different from other students (social scientists) in their fear of death. Medical students (like the controls) were most fearful of the death of a significant other, somewhat less fearful of dying themselves and least fearful of being dead themselves. Female students proved to be more fearful than males. Small, but significant, associations were found between fear of death and personality measures.
