Social Science & Medicine, 1986, vol. 22, issue 6, 619-627
Abstract:
In 1978, the Italian Parliament passed legislation setting into motion a process of reforming the national health services. The implementation of this legislation is incomplete and has varied both regionally and in different parts of the system. The legislation is summarized, the implementation outlined and an attempt is made to relate the problems that have arisen to other aspects of Italian society.
