Regular employment for people with mental illness – An evaluation of the individual placement and support programme

Abstract: •Individual placement and support (IPS) investigated in moderate/severe mental illness.•We document the long-term effects of IPS in Norway using an RCT and registry data.•Effects were particularly large for younger individuals with low education.•IPS proves to increase regular employment during a 43 months follow-up period.•IPS is cost-effective compared to treatment-as-usual.
