Abstract:
We consider the variant of the (classic) collector’s problem where the family of coupon probabilities is the mixing of two subfamilies one of which is the uniform family, while the other belongs to the so-called Zipf family. Motivation comes from a question placed in a recent work of ours (A.V. Doumas and V.G. Papanicolaou, 2012b).
