Asymptotically design-unbiased predictors for two-stage sampling

Abstract:
In this paper we give conditions for a two-stage sampling plan under which the best linear unbiased predictor of the population total is asymptotically design unbiased. This property provides protection against model misspecification in large sample surveys.
