Abstract:
With a simple modification, we propose a strong improvement of the quality of balancing with the cube method. The units are sorted in descending order according to their Mahalanobis distances to the center of the multivariate data cloud of balancing variables. We then apply the fast implementation of the cube method. The rounding problem on the balancing variables is greatly reduced.
