Improved predictors in survey sampling under a super population model

Statistics & Probability Letters, 1995, vol. 25, issue 3, 249-252
Abstract:
This paper considers the estimation of population mean under a super population model and presents a class of improved estimators. Dominance of this class over the conventional unbiased estimator with respect to predictive mean squared error is studied and a simple condition is deduced. Unbiased estimation of the bias and efficiency gain is also discussed.
