Abstract:
Bélanger and Gagnon (1993) considered a modified decision rule for classification and proportion estimation in the case of two normal populations. The objective of this note is to extend this approach to the case of two populations described by mixed discrete and continuous variables. The asymptotic behaviour of the estimated proportion is examined in detail.
