Stochastic monotonicity properties of Bayes estimation of the population size for capture-recapture data

O. Yoshida, J. G. Leite and H. Bolfarine

Statistics & Probability Letters, 1999, vol. 42, issue 3, 257-266

Abstract: Under arbitrary prior distributions for the population size k and for capture probabilities, monotonicity properties of the posterior distribution of k are obtained to explain the role of the sample and the role of the prior opinion about the capture probabilities in the Bayesian estimation of k.
