On a class of asymptotic distributions in redundancy with renewals

Abstract: A class of possible limit distributions is derived for the distribution of the first time system-down of a system consisting of n + 1 (n = 1, 2, ...) exactly similar units where only one unit is in operation at any given time while the other n units are in unloaded standby or are being repaired.
