Nonparametric tests for random effects in the balanced incomplete block design

Sigit Nugroho and Z. Govindarajulu

Statistics & Probability Letters, 2002, vol. 56, issue 4, 431-437

Abstract: We study the statistical testing of random effects in the balanced incomplete block design by using the locally most powerful (LMP) rank test and some assumptions. The test criterion in logistic case has a linear relationship with the statistic derived by Durbin (Br. J. Psychol. Statist. Sec. IV (II) (1951) 85) for testing no means/medians differences among treatments. For more details of deriving LMP rank tests for random effects in randomized block designs, the reader is referred to Nugroho and Govindarajulu (Indian J. Math. 41 (1) (1999) 55).
