On class, class, and compound distributions in reliability

Abstract: Closure results in class proved recently for geometric compounds are generalized to general compound distributions. The results obtained provide a new characterization of the geometric distribution. Some characterizing properties of the class and class of life distributions are also discussed in the sequel.
