Extension of runs to the continuous-valued sequences

Abstract:
In this note, new run definitions which we call [var epsilon]-neighbourhood and [var epsilon]-increasing runs are introduced. These definitions are the rational extension of runs to the continuous-valued sequences. Distributional properties of the introduced run statistics are studied.
