Permutation test for non-inferiority of the linear to the optimal combination of multiple tests

Abstract: We proposed a permutation test for non-inferiority of the linear discriminant function to the optimal combination of multiple tests based on the Mann-Whitney statistic estimate of the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve. Monte Carlo simulations showed the proposed test had expected type I error rate and sufficient statistical power under moderate sample sizes.
