Technovation, 2023, vol. 128, issue C

Abstract: Based on organizational learning theory, the influence of the transactive memory system of the top management team on business model innovation is discussed, as is the impact of different dimensions of boundary-spanning search on different business model innovation attributes when attention distribution is taken into account. Meanwhile, the moderating effects of environmental dynamism are considered. Regression and bootstrap analysis are used to test hypotheses. The results based on empirical research show that the transactive memory system has a positive effect on the dual attributes of business model innovation; acute boundary-spanning search and concentrated boundary-spanning search affect novelty-centered business model innovation and efficiency-centered business model innovation, respectively, and play mediating roles. Meanwhile, environmental dynamism positively moderates the relationship between acute boundary-spanning search and novelty-centered business model innovation, but negatively moderates the relationship between concentrated boundary-spanning and business efficiency-centered model innovation efficiency.
