Technology in Society, 2018, vol. 54, issue C, 93-100
Abstract:
•Researchers used technophobia interchangeably with terms such as computer anxiety/phobia which is confusing and misleading.•Technophobia is a more comprehensive attitude toward various forms of technology and computer phobia is one instance of it.•Technophobia is not a one construct variable, it has several hidden factors.•The study proposes a new scale for measuring technophobia using five sub-dimensions identified in the data analysis.•Technophobia was defined based on the findings of the study rather than an intellectually appealing one is proposed.
