Abstract:
Sales of cellular telephones are booming, in the USA and worldwide. This growth is at present mainly among business users, but there is tremendous potential in wider consumer markets. This article outlines eight areas in which cellular technology could have a major impact, affecting our lifestyles, behaviour and expectations. The forces and factors that will shape the development of cellular technology are also discussed.
