Abstract:
Alberta Government Telephones (AGT) was privatized in October 1990 in what remains the largest public stock issue in Canadian history. In this article the Chairman of AGT explains the success of the company's launch into the private sector in terms of four key factors: careful strategic planning, comprehensive consumer research and analysis, targeted stakeholder communications and effective issues management.
