Telecommunications Policy, 1997, vol. 21, issue 8, 733-742
Abstract:
This paper discusses the policy objectives of the Dutch government regarding the liberalization of the Dutch telecommunications markets, and particularly the considerations surrounding the recent liberalization of fixed infrastructure. It scans the limits of the freedom brought about by the new interim legislation in the market of fixed telecommunications infrastructure and summarizes the developments in the fields of mobile and satellite communications. It furthermore sketches the problems surrounding the creation of an independent regulatory authority and peeks at the plans for a completely revised Dutch Telecommunications Act.
